The Whistler Centre for Sustainability is seeking ideas from Whistler residents for easy-to-implement local projects that entire neighbourhoods can enjoy.

Whistler Centre for Sustainability Campaigns

The Whistler Centre for Sustainability will award $500 to the Whistler neighbourhood that comes up with the best idea for a neighbourhood legacy project that meets the following criteria…

  • Leaves a great legacy;
  • Supports neighbourhood belonging;
  • Benefits the environment;
  • Receives a significant amount of ‘likes’ and comments from fellow residents on Wayblaze!

Deadline July 1st, 2017

Add your idea below and then share it with all your friends and neighbours to boost support for it. If you see ideas posted by others that you like, show your support for them by liking, commenting, and sharing them through your networks. Even if your neighbourhood is not selected for the award, you can still draw on the power of the local crowd by raising the funds for your project idea on Wayblaze.

    We review each project application to ensure that it meets the following criteria:

    • Your project will help improve the social fabric, local economic vitality and/or environmental - integrity of your community.
    • Your project will provide broad benefit to a range of community members (as opposed to a private campaign for a private cause).
    • You have the resources, ability, and credibility to successfully complete or coordinate the completion of the project.
    • The amount of funds you are raising will be enough to successfully implement it.
    • If you are raising money on an debt or equity basis, the maximum you can raise is $250,000 and the maximum that each backer can contribute is $1500.

    If the project does not meet all the above criteria, we will work with you to modify your application.

  • We offer all crowdfunding types including: Donations, Rewards, Debt and Equity. You can raise up to $250,000 for a Debt or Equity project.

  • You are a small business or non-profit social enterprise
  • You are headquartered and registered in Canada
  • You primarily serve local customers
  • Your enterprise has been negatively impacted by Covid-19
  • You were a “going concern” enterprise prior to the pandemic

DONATIONS OR REWARDS

Get donations or offer rewards, such as gift cards, to be redeemed once you resume normal operations

debt OR EQUITY (BC Companies only)

Ask people to provide a loan, or buy shares in your enterprise

3% Platform Fees Select

If you run a crowdfunding campaign, you will be eligible to apply for a loan through the Canadian Small Business Relief Bond.
