Montreal’s first urban chicken project
Project Poc (which means “cluck” in French) is the first social entreprise to take advantage of new regulations in certain Montreal neighbourhoods that allows residents to keep chickens.Poc offers a turnkey operation including two chickens, a chicken coop, feed and litter for the first season. The Poc team hired a design firm to create a compact coop to suit households in the high-density neighbourhoods where the first coops are currently being deployed. The goal is to use early adopters to show how benign urban chickens can be and to eventually get the whole city on board.
