The Reuse It Centre in Whistler

This Reuse-It-Centre started in 2000 as a thrift store for household goods and then expanded a decade later to offer used building materials.  The Centre is run by the Whistler Community Services Society and the proceeds from annual sales of over $1 million in used goods are used to run a number of community programs.  Part of what makes this Reuse It Centre so successful is that it is located right next to the recycling depot so residents do not have to separate trip to drop off their recyclables and household goods.

Where it is located...

Every City needs one of these. I am sickened when I visit the transfer station and see mountains of materials that could be re-used or re-purposed.
