Yantolo Volunteer House in Peru

Over 200 people came together to help fund the $22,000 cost to build a house to accommodate volunteers working at a local medical clinic in the Alto Mayo region of Peru.  The house was designed with a number of sustainable building features including:  an inward sloping roof to capture rainwater, which can then be used to water food gardens around the house, solar panels on the roof, a solar power hot water heater, and use of local, sustainable building materials.
