At Wayblaze Crowdfunding Inc., we respect your privacy. While the nature of our business may require us to obtain some personal information from you, we will never knowingly sell, rent, loan, or provide that information to any third party (except the financial agencies that process your funding contributions and the project or idea campaign proponents soliciting for funds or ideas) without your specific consent. Wayblaze is dedicated to protecting your information and fully complying with the requirements of the law.

Information Collected

Wayblaze collects the following information:

  • Basic profile information such as name, address, phone number, login, and password solely to identify and communicate with users and project proponents.
  • Additional profile information and images entered by the user as part of their user profile and preferences.
  • information on fundable projects, inspirations, and project ideas including comments on projects and messages to others.
  • Information on your activity on the site, including your transactions, your IP address and type of device or browser you use.
  • Your communications with us, including your email preferences
  • Other data such as (but not limited to) funding habits, demographics, and opinions to enhance and improve our service to you.

If you back a project, the project proponent will receive your name and email address and that party may collect information from you so they can give you the reward, financial agreement, or thanks associated with the project.

Wayblaze collects credit card information from project backers who make contributions to a project. This information is passed on the Credit Card processing company (Stripe). Wayblaze does not store your credit card information.

Information kept private

While information related to your basic profile and your comments are public, the following information will not be displayed or revealed to third parties: your IP address, your password, your payment details (including the parties you may fund), your phone number, or your communications with us. We reserve the right to disclose personal information when required to by law, or when we suspect fraud or abuse.

Communication

We will communicate with you by email regarding your project applications, project updates and funding transactions. We will also send you marketing communication emails but only in accordance with your preferences, which you can adjust at any time. We will never post anything to your Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or other third party accounts without your express permission.

Cookies

When you visit our website a small file called a “cookie” is used to track the projects you want to fund as you move through the payment pages. To make a funding contribution on Wayblaze, you must have your cookies turned on. Once you have finished making your contribution, you can delete the cookies from your hard drive. Website analytics

Wayblaze uses Remarketing with Google Analytics to advertise online. Third-party vendors, including Google, may show Wayblaze ads on sites across the Internet. Wayblaze and third-party vendors, including Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies together to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on someone’s past visits to your website. These cookies are also used to report how your ad impressions, other uses of ad services, and interactions with these ad impressions and ad services are related to visits to your site.

Information Collection

Wayblaze only collects information from users and project proponents through lawful and consented sources. The company will not hold or collect any information that originates from an unconsented source. If a Wayblaze employee receives unconsented information, he/she will advise the party that sent it to cease and that they are in violation of the Personal Information Protection Act.

Information Security

All information collected from users is safeguarded through various means such as (but not limited to): restricted access to databases and servers, cyphering, passwords, encryption, as well as locked filing cabinets for information collected in paper form. If paper documents containing personal user information are no longer required, they are shredded.

User access to personal information

At any time a user may ask to view all personal information collected by the company and ascertain how it is being used or disclosed. There may be times in which some information will be restricted if there are references to other identifiable individuals, legal concerns, security or proprietary rights or costs. If this is the case, the individual making the request will be advised of the reasons for the restrictions. We may charge a fee to provide this information, as permitted by law.

Complaints and inquiries

Any concerns, complaints or inquiries about the handling of personal information or surrounding the policy must be made in writing and include specific concerns. All complaints will be investigated and responded to within 30 days of receiving a complaint with subsequent steps taken by Wayblaze to resolve the situation. If this process does not resolve the complaint, then the individual may seek remedies under the appropriate government authority.
