One way to provide affordable housing for those working in the service sector or other lower paid jobs on Sunshine Coast is to reduce the per unit cost of land. This can be achieved by allowing rezoning of larger parcels of land that currently only allow one unit, for multiple units but only if the project is geared specifically towards affordable housing in perpetuity.
Good example of this approach is being used on Galiano Island. www.galianogreen.org

I think there is definitely an interest for this on the Coast. Is the Galiano project affordable units only, or does it include market housing?
Great idea, wouldn’t it be great if this included some rental
