We can solve a waste problem, encourage literacy, and create culturally relevant art across Whistler. Picture whimsical book boxes placed in parks or along the Valley Trail where people can share books, take books, and connect with this place and the people who call it home. Every year, more than three metric tonnes of ski waste is sent to the landfill. By upcycling discarded skis into functional art, we demonstrate our community’s passion for innovation and commitment to protecting nature. The $500 budget would enable two demonstration projects in the community. This project would build relationships between people and create new interest in public spaces. Let’s do this, Whistler!

Love this. What a beautiful way to upcycle my pre-loved gear and have a lasting gift to my neighbourhood!
