Create a gardening library at the Cheakamus Community Garden

We would like to install a little library of gardening books at the Cheakamus Commmunity Gardens.

Books would be on planning a garden, growing veggies, maximising your veggie yields, planting with native species, how to collect and propagate seeds, foraging, etc.

We welcome gardeners and non-gardeners to enjoy time in the community gardens and the idea with the little library is that books be enjoyed while in the community garden, at one of the many benches and with the mountain backdrop – bring people together around a shared interest.

We already have a donated box which we can adapt for the purpose – therefore if selected we would put funds towards buying succulents we would like to plant on the box roof and to purchase some of the more specialised books to add to those we hope will be donated.

This would be a great addition to our garden.
