Create an “Energy Park” that produces energy

This idea is to create a playground in a high tourist area in which each of the playground rides help to produce energy as they are used.  Some of these playground rides could include:

  • A teeter totter that produces electricity as it goes up and down.
  • A stationary walking apparatus that charges a battery

A merry-go-round that pumps water uphill into a cistern that then produces hydroelectricity when the water is released.

The funds need to build the energy park could be re-paid from the energy generated.  The energy could ultimately be used to provide night-time lighting for the park and possibly other nearby uses.

The playground users get exercise and feel good that they are generating energy and the municipality demonstrates its commitment to the environment.
