This idea comes from Castlegar, BC, where the local community there established a walking tour that goes past a number of sculptures as a way to enhance downtown revitalization, encourage walking, and support local artists. The funds would be used to create a website where the local community could vote on sculptures and then purchase those sculptures. As an added environmental benefit, artists could be encouraged to submit sculptures made from waste materials such as the globe sculpture made of bicycle wheels shown in the photo. More information about how the Castlegar program works, can be found at: http://www.sculpturewalkcastlegar.com
