Best example is The Green Store in Nanaimo. http://www.discountorganic.ca/
UNFI (United Natural Foods, Incorporated) – “It’s a wholesale health market in Richmond. It’s open to the public on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. They sell things with slightly imperfect packaging (dented boxes, etc) and near-date products at an unbelievable discount. Plus, when you buy a case of something, you take an additional 20-50% off!!!”
Also massive bulk buys like Country Grocer.
And if up to me the whole store would be vegan – more environmentally friendly.
(not really local food, but related to food issues)
