Restore the Travellers Hotel in Ladysmith

The Travellers Hotel, built in 1910 was once the social centre for the working class in Ladysmith. It had one of the best and largest bars on the west coast, as well as 2 dining rooms and 32 guest rooms. It is listed on the Canadian Registry of Historic Places. In recent times, it has fallen into disrepair and has been closed for more than 10 years.

However, there is renewed interest in restoring the hotel by buying it from the current owners, who have indicating a willingness to sell it. The building has 13,000 square feet of space on 3 levels. Ideally, the funding to purchase and renovate the building would come from a debt or equity crowdfunding campaign.

However, because Wayblaze is not currently setup to run debt or equity crowdfunding campaigns (only donation and reward campaigns), the money would have to be raised through a separate financing campaign.

Because there currently no hotels on the main street of Ladysmith and only one motel on the highway, there should be sufficient tourist demand to fill the hotel rooms.
